Waterfowl Calling Seminar

Hi Folks,

If anyone would like to attend a waterfowl calling seminar, whether you would like to share your calling experience or learn. Could you please enter your name on the the list.

I, myself am no pro caller, but Ed & myself would certainly share any information that we have to help you become a better caller. If we get enough interest we will schedule the seminar.

 Thanks

  Peter

BE WARE OF LEMON BEAGLE PUPS IN SHEARSTOWN

Someone is selling lemon beagle pups in Shearstown. The pups are in poor health. One of the common problems is hip dysplasia. I'm not sure who the seller is. One of our own has a dog from this guy and the vet told him, it's from over breeding or the mother was in poor health her self.

Moose fences, warning systems to be tested

The provincial government will take a small step towards combatting the mooseproblem in Newfoundland.

But a large-scale solution to moose-vehicle accidents is likely still years away, Transportation Minister Tom Hedderson said Wednesday.

For now, the province will run a pilot project with 15 kilometres of moose fencing along a stretch of highway yet to be selected and wildlife detection systems at various known hot spots, also yet to be selected.

Hedderson said… Continue

NEWFOUNDLAND ATV FEDERATION

I am very interested in starting up, the Newfoundland ATV Federation.

I think the time has come for us to stand up to the forces that want to see this sport gone completely. The amount of tourism this sport could create in this province is astounding. We have a beautiful province, rich in wildlife, scenery and the friendliest people in the world. The government, I'm sure is aware of the potential for the influx of visiters, to view this province via the old railway bed.… Continue

ATVs allowed on Garnish roads!

A southern Newfoundland community has opened its roads to all-terrain vehicles for at least a year.

All the rules of the road apply to ATVs, and if ATV-drivers don't respect them, their freedom to use roads will be revoked in 2012.

The mayor of Garnish hopes the change will improve safety in the town on the Burin Peninsula, where it's estimated there are as many ATVs as there are cars.

Garnish is the gateway to a popular ATV trail in the area. Until Jan.1,…

Caribou are essential to the cultural identity, customs and traditions of Labradorians and are an important dietary staple. Following the completion of field work and data analysis for the George River caribou herd census by biologists from both Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec, the Honourable Charlene Johnson, Minister of…

Wildlife Habitat Conservation Grants

The funds invested by Wildlife Habitat Canada to support grants come from the purchase of the Canadian Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp. The stamp is purchased primarily by waterfowl hunters to validate their Migratory Game Bird Hunting Permits, and is also sold to print purchasers, stamp collectors, and individuals interested in contributing to the conservation, restoration and enhancement of wildlife habitat in Canada. With the support of…

GUN SNOBS

I need to vent, so here goes....

I have been told time and time again that all semi autos under $1000 are garbage.

If you are considering a new gun purchase, do some research online talk to people that own guns not people who sell guns.

I have been told by gun retailers that Baikal Semi Autos are garbage and it is impossible to get parts. Well I did some real research, read hundreds of reviews and 99 percent were positive. I bought…
