tie them by each corner as wide apart as you can same as you would pin out clothes on a clothes line or fly a flag...the guys shot 15 eiders the other day on the point over flags on a northwest wind..

ya the rough days are the ones for the flags, need the wind to get that pretty flap...be interesting to see what the double wammy would do as well.....take you about 20 mins to make up a flag setup to toss in your backpack, just lay a couple half hitches over two corners....I stick one pole up first then stick the other one up so the wind hits them right making the flags look like ducks when they flap, little bit quartering to the wind..leave a little slack for the rise and fall looks even more real....you'll grin first time you put em up.

She is a local breed from the burin peninsula. She is a great little dog, easy to handle and savage for the water.

Thanks!! My hunting partner has a 3 year old lab whose game!! Do I need a lot of Decoys or will 10 -12 work? I really have to appologize for all the questions. but, my buddy and I are avid freshwater duck hunters and we want to try our hand at sea ducks and we no no one around that does it. I hope you understand. Thanks for all your help thus far, I'll update you on our progress. Ed

The only places I can think of is the cape shore and trepassy. This is the home for eiders but weather is key. You willl definately need a good dog that is not afraid of rough seas. I hunt the burin peninsula area which is about 4-5 hours drive from St John's. THe frustrating thing about eider hunting is that it is so weather dependent!!
