Coyote Roaming Metro Area

There were a few anxious pet owners and school administrators in the centre city area of St.John's today. A coyote was spotted running around Penneywell, Prince of Wales Street and Empire Avenue among other streets in the area. At one point, police advised Bishop Field Elementary on Bond Street to keep students inside as a precaution unless accompanied by an adult. Paradise Elementary had a similar encounter a few weeks ago but in that situation, the coyote was actually on the school grounds.

Eileen, who lives on Old Penneywell Road, told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that she's going to think twice before allowing her small dog out in the backyard on his own.
