was wondering how long can a bull moose be down before it's no good to eat?

I'd say it depends on the temp. We had one down for 3 days years ago but it was very cold.

I came upon it with no gut no nuts removed and no throat cut.I came upon the moose around 4 pm and There was another hunter in the same area earlier that day,he had a shot at a moose but he said he missed.He shot at a moose around 8 am

If it's not to warm it should be fine. Gut is out. I'd cut it up and check it out, make sure it's not turning. With today's ammo u don't really need to cut the throat. One the heart stops beating the blood settles in the body anyway. It is definitely worth checking out.

Would blow a bit but if your careful you could get the paunch out without breaking it.

Some people think if the moose don't drop it's not hit and don't bother to track it, sadly a lot of this goes on.

Too many people are just to lazy to get off their duff and take a look.
Too many are shooting far beyond their capabilities or the rifles capabilities. I been told of fellas shooting at moose over 500 yards with a 303. Crazy! I heard of 6 moose being hit and not found, 3 weren't even looked for. This practice must stop, something needs to be done. It actually makes my stomach turn and blood boil.
