Anyone know of any spots that produce ducks this time of year I just bought a duck licence ( my first ever licence) and well looking to go out and possibly shoot my first duck looking for advice or even be able to tag along with someone for that chance, I drove witless bay line this morn and stopped and looked at a few ponds but really out of my element for ducks thanks in advance matt

It's really hard to find a pond that no one else have taken. For that reason I don't hunt in here. Good luck and I hope you get someone to take you. Cheers

Thanks anyways I'll continue to look around hopfully find that odd duck sitting on a pond somewhere

Hi Matthew, There are usually geese in towards the Lord's Pond area off Witless Bay Line. It's a long walk in but I usually see something, sometimes get a shot. I go down past Cappahayden sometimes as well early in the season and check slews and ponds with binoculars from the road. Honestly though, you have to like hunting for hunting here on the Avalon. I come home empty handed more often than not.
