Well folks, last Monday a buddy of mine and I went to the burin peninsula to hunt coyote. We'd tried several times around home to call some out with no luck. It was windy, snowing, and we didn't really think we'd call something out.
About 7:30am we set up on a little knob with our caller, and started calling. About 2 minutes later 2 coyotes came running from about 1200yds across the bog! What an adrenaline rush! I took aim for the farthest one and my buddy the closest. At about 150yds my buddy nailed the first one, and I shot for the second one but missed, and he took off. We set up on another stand and called for about 5 minutes when we noticed a fox sitting about 100yds off just watching us. After about 20 minutes no coyotes so we packed up and the fox took off. Made another stand with no luck.
All in all it was the most fun I've ever had hunting. What an adrenaline rush it was to see those two dogs closing in on us. I'm hooked! It neither of us had called or shot a coyote before, so it was pretty exciting! I'm out west now working for a few weeks, can't wait to get back and try again!

I'll try to post a pic later.

Sounds like a good hunt, what type of caller were you using?

A cheapo western rivers. I'll be upgrading to a foxpro spitfire very soon.

God I suck at posting pics, lol

nice one. I've been using a cass creek mega amp for my last two hunts. Havent called anything in yet but i got to say the caller is pretty loud for its size, one thing i find about it is the calls are a little bit short so i've been taking my hand calls to switch it up a little bit but for a quarter of the price of a spitfire it seems to be fairly decent.

I thought about buying a cheaper caller, but my buddies western rivers caller we used, he isn't that pleased with it. He's upgrading to a foxpro too, so I figure I should buy a good one the first time around
