An outspoken fisherman on the northeast coast says he will be defying any rules that say he won't be able to bring his grandchildren out on his boat with him. Leo Seymour of Round Harbour on the Baie Verte Peninsula was reacting to comments from Dave Boyd of Twillingate. The tourism operator told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly earlier this week that he's been told he's not allowed to take his grandsons on his boat. Seymour says if that's the case, expect that he'll be breaking the law.
He says he believes in safety, but to suggest that he can't take his grandchildren out on his boat, is no different from telling him he can't drive them to Springdale or Grand Falls-Windsor.
