I can burn you a copy of Topo Canada. Where abouts are you located?

Living in the goulds, that would be perfect, im guessing it just put it on the micro sd then right ?

I installed Garmin Base Camp (on my computer) for my Dakota GPS. Then downloaded the free Canadian topo map and used Base Camp to put it on the GPS. I imagine the Etrex would work the same way.

Try this: http://www.gpsfiledepot.com/tutorials/how-to-load-maps-on-my-garmin...

there is a note at the bottom of the pge:

Note: Certain GPS units (60c(s)x,  Legend/Vista/Etex (H)Cx, any unit released prior to the Colorado) have map limits.  They will only read 2gb of maps on a card (even if the card is larger) and will only read 2024 segments.

Would these work for a Garmin Astro 320?

I hadn't heard of the Astro so I just looked it up. The name is likely taken from the Jetson's cartoon. The dog's name is Astro.

The Astro 320 is a current product, so I doubt it would have the same limitations as older products. It supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, which I believe is memory-intensive so my guess is yes, although I don't see anything online that specifically says the 320 will load the Canadian Topo map, I read in a couple places that "Astro 320 is compatible with Garmin Custom Maps, free software that transforms paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device."

There is an interesting note on the Astro sales page. It only just became legal in Canada.

Due to varying international regulations, this version of the Astro is approved for use only in the U.S. The sale and unlicensed use of the Garmin Astro GPS dog tracking system in any form is presently prohibited by the Canadian government. According to a document published by Industry Canada dated June 2009, the MURS radio frequency used by the Astro will be permitted to be sold and operated on a license-free basis at the end of a 5-year transition period (June 2014). This Industry Canada ruling may be found in its entirety at http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/smt-gst.nsf/eng/sf09543.html. Parties interested in the implementation of this spectrum utilization policy or with questions should contact their local Industry Canada office.

BTW, a new software version became available August 25.

That new software update disables the tracking system on the GPS.
