Ok here I go again. What gives other hunters or other walkers in the woods the right to take or damage a trappers gear. For those to do that and think it's okay, or their right, you are a coward. A trappers gear costs money to fix or replace. If you happen to come across trapping gear on a trapline, instead of taking or breaking the gear, here's a tip for what to do. Simply take the snare up and hang it on the tree that it is attached to. In my personal opinion, as a trapper, I do not mind this, but it bothers me to find my gear missing or damaged.

Hey Mac it is too bad that you did not get him (thief) who in my word is a big coward. What I would like for you to do is send me what you said and sent to wilflife and RCMP. Also what they said to you. Make sure you email them so we have a record and so we can keep up the presure. I will talk to Ed and Peter and see if there is anything we can do on this site to bring awareness to this issue. Maybe we can put up the names and profiles of people convicted of these types of thefts. It would be a start.
Now, on a more lighter side, wow a wolf wow wow love to see the pic and any video you have on him
and as well to let the goverment know that we have a voice in #s
Tried to do a follow up email seems you can't do that. Guess I will have to drop them a snail note. Found another good video too. but Im keeping the videos quiet yet. I can let you see them but not on public. My God they (investigations) are some slow!!!
I agree 100% with you on the issue about posting names of people convicted of trapping violations ex: people stealing trapped animals esp. BUT how many do you know have been charged and/or convicted????????? none I bet' ; see!!!!!!
Hey Mac as today I here of no one but we have to kept on top of it love to see the video
Hi Mac and Tony.
Hey Mac, I hope they catch this person and make them an example. We need to let the people know that stealing is stealing. No excuses.
Hope something is done about this and you get your animal back.
Maybe someone that knows or sees the pelt or hears a story will report it.
Real good points there Gerard. I am sure someone knows about it.What we need to do is kept up the persure on this I to had lost gear to low life dirtbags, that is the only word I could use here I have other words for them LOL I would love to run into the dirtbags taken my gear
Guys, thanks for the support!
I am thinking about offering a reward for any info leading to a conviction here. Some one else knows about this and you can count on that; however, I don't want to jeopardize any chances of that person being brought to justice. Rumors are flying as they always tend to be! Guess its a waiting game.
Trapping fox coyote ends this month end and I think carcus' have to be in 7 days after that. End of July the season ends for shooting .
Good Luck Mac I hope they get him.
The whole trapper and hunter problem is not new.It been going on for as long as theres been traps and dogs.
There is no solution and even though as Nflders we love regulation, there is no regulation to resolve it.
I have been on both sides and for the most part the best advice I can give the dog owner to be on look out for trapper sign when you go hunting its usually pretty easy to figure out where a snare will be. Any foot path is a guarantee.
While many dogs get hung up in snares most are readily found and to be honest for the most part having a dog caught in a fox / coyote snare is more of an inconvenience than a danger.
For beagle owners I suggest teaching your dog to bark( most do anyway) when they get hung up up, simple to do if your dog is typically kept in a kennel.and for most part it will take but a few minutes to get to it and take off the snare. The usually will no bark if snare is on mouth,( rabbit snare)
