Hello

I have a young setter 10 months. He has already seen one season mostly from my backpack but got a few birds with him.  Anyway he now showing all the signs should be able to make a dog out of him. I didn't really want to wait for the season to open to get him on game birds again because he is after everything in the woods right (crows, gulls, sparrows).  So is there a place in eastern Newfoundland where I can get some pen razed game birds? I apologize if this has already been posted somewhere else.

Send a private message to Ken Dinn. He breads and trains dogs. Great fella to talk to.

I usually raise pheasant.  Not this year however.  In case you want a few for next year.   It is too bad there are no game farms for hunting birds.  Most places across north America and other parts of the world allow it but it is not allowed in NL.  Of Course.  When I lived in Ontario we would purchase game birds (pheasants) release them and hunt therm.  Not as easy as it sounds.  Also not allowed in NL. Figures.
