My dear wife successfully completed the hunter safety course in Nov.  My question is...... does she have to apply and pay for a PAL ( purchase and acquisition licence) in order to hunt with a borrowed gun?.  The plan is for my wife and I to apply for moose licence as partners.  There will be no need for her to ever purchase a gun or ammo.  I have a PAL, why would she need one?  I will be with her on every occasion she hunts if she possesses the licence.

She can hunt with you but must be within arms reach. Saying that, I would recommend her applying for her own PAL.

thanks for the reply Pete.  Does she need a PAL to carry my gun,  I will always be with her

She can as long as you are right there with her. For the record, provincial wildlife won't ask for the pal, it's federal.
RCMP or federal wildlife can ask.
I'd still recommend she get the pal, at the very least she can buy you new guns.
