Rabbit population on the up and up?

Well, I have only gotten out a few times, but avoided the skunk on all days!  First day out I managed to shoot 1, and laid out 20 snares.  2nd day out, managed to shoot 2 and put out another 15 snares.  I went back to the cbn area for a try in a place i hadnt been in close on 5 yrs, and in less then 3 hours, i shot 8 and my cousin bagged his first.  we drove another 3-4 rabbits as well!  yesterday i went out to check the snares, and even tho it has been a little warm, i managed to snare another nice rabbit, and put out another 10 snares, and drove a rabbit very close to my house, too close for a shot. 

 

i have noticed that there is a lot more new leads and sign near my home where i hunt.  also, there seem to be more rabbits being seen close to the road, and even in our back yard.  im dpoing quite well with a dozen rabbits in a few days, so it looks to me that the rabbit numbers are up, but whats does everyone else think?  are the numbers up or down in other areas?

I agree Jamie, Rabbits seem to be in good shape this year, a lot of young rabbits on the go. From all appearances it seems like a good year for Rabbits. Congrats on bagging 12, Ed

hey iam here in bauline near torbay been a few years since i have ahad a beagle. just picked up a 11 mounth old female on friday been out for three day in the same area only jumped 1 rabbit which we baged. seams to be lots of signs but not jumping much going out this weekend to a spot i hunted off samonier line in the pasted wich i always found to be a hot spot with any luck the rabbits will pletiful this will let me know how my beagle ads up or if she needs a little work

Pretty plentiful here on the west coast. A lot of leads. Been a very wet october. Hoping for cooler weather to get them running more.
