Hello All,
After av14 year breaking from shotgunning, I have finally decided to pick up a bit of small game hunting. Back then I was mostly interested in hunting for duck and goose, so i wanted to get a second opinoin for small game shot sizes. I know everyone has their own preference, but here is what I has in mind.
Grouse, rabbit & ptarmigan - 2-3/4" 12 ga. #5 lead shot
Coyote - 3" 12 ga. 00 buck
I know if will learn as I go, but I just wanted to make sure I am on the right track. My hunting will be done in close range with a modified choke.
Thanks.

I use 2-3/4 #4 lead (Kent fast lead) for small game, and when I used my 12 guage for coyote hunting I used 3-1/2 BB Heavi-Shot for the best chance of hitting them. I downed one in the goulds last year at 89 yards using a full choke with my Benelli.
For ducks & geese I use 3-1/2 #4 Hevi Shot.
Thanks. I have been doing some searching and it appears that many like to use #4buck for coyote.
