Moose sighting are commonplace on Newfoundland roadways, and it's not unusual to see the occasional bear, fox or even horses and cows...but how about a turkey? Brian Chaulk says he's spotted the huge bird twice on the Salmonier Line near St. Catherine's...the most recent sighting was yesterday morning.

To Bad there is not a season for them. But give them time to grow and maybe there will be. Ontario had there population down to just a few 100. With the right management they are now up to 100 000 birds and have a great harvest for them each year. Gros Morne park and you can google it has 3-400 birds that are wild so they will live here.
Good post tony
Yes....! let the population grow before allowing a hunt. Great bird to hunt and good meat in it too. If they ever do allow a hunt they will need to regulate when and how to hunt the bird. In Ontario where it was reintroduced, because it was hunted nearly to extinction in that area, they do not allow hunting until Sunrise and no evening hunting. Good reason for that too. It is too easy to kill at those times and does not make for "fair chase". The bird would be hunted into (local)extinction in no time if they let people hunt 1/2 hour before sunrise and 1/2 hour after sunset.
