Unfortunately Remington isn't what it used to be. Thier quality control has gone out the window in the past few years, so I'd probably go with an older one if I was looking at Remington again. Browning's new Maxus semi-auto seems to be getting excellent reviews, but it's pricey.

I know that alot of people had trouble with the M887 N.Mag. But i was one of the ones who did not. I put alot of rounds in that gun and never had no trouble, i am very lucky. Alot of rounds i mean 3000 round and never had any trouble. But there are people who have this gun and had nothing only trouble, i guess that Q.C for remington needs to shape up, or people will not be buying there guns. Just my though.

never shot the m887 but from what i heard it was a hit or miss. and i agree i love Remington but there quality is slowly sliding, just a reply to Chris i have been following the browning's maxus review they seem to be very good hopen to get one in the near future (fingers crossed)

I had it refinihed by Chris Dawe of Seal Cove, he did a fantastic job, the buttstock was changed to the straighter English style and all the checkering redone and he made me a new forestock with a pistol grip. if you have a gun you want refinished Chris is your man.
