What trap to use to protect my chickens.

I have a good chicken pen completely enclosed with wire burried into the ground to keep weasels and mink out.  But those guys are persistent and will find a weak spot somewhere.  I can't legally shoot anything,  I am too close to a few houses. 

What type of trap would you recommend to rid my self of this critter?

Unless you have a trapping lic or a Nuisance Permit you are not aloud to dispatch any animal. It will be pouching and you can be charged. But you are in luck. Trapping season is just around the corner and if you live on the avlon i could help you out with your problem. I do trap and have the boxes to clean up that mess. But the season don't open untill Oct 20/2012 Good luck.

Well that may be true but I am sure all the hobby farmers out there dispatching rats and mink are not licensed.  I simply cannot wait until Oct. 20.
