I've gotten into bear hunting the last few years and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or procedures on how to prepare the pelt for selling (like to North American Fur Auctions, etc.). I'm pretty new to preparing pelts, and have tried on squirrels, rabbits, and mink before. I was hoping to start preparing some bear pelts for selling (have one bear being turned into a rug professionally, but can only have so many rugs and don't want to waste the pelts). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
just cut the bear out the 4 paws and up the middle leaving about 3 inch from his lips turn the ears inside out and leave the claws on...dry on a sheet of plywood but wait tell it get cold so their well be no flys around because it takes a wile to dry if you have any more questions fell free to ask!
