Hello Fellow Bow Hunters,, I just joined this site today and am very excited to see that there a few Bow Hunters here enjoying the art of Archery for Big Game. I've alread taken some deer with my Bow and have been Bow Hunting for the last 6 or 7 yrs here in NS. I by no means am an expert, but I do have some slight knowledge that I could share with anyone wanting some help, and would be glad to do it.

There are a lot you already on the right track, I can tell from the advise you already been given by some of the members, and like they say PRACTISE IS PARAMOUNT and above all no matter what kind of Bow you shoot or what draw length it is or what kind of broad head you use the one single most importent thing in Bow Hunting is SHOT PLACEMENT. I can"t stress that too much, if you put the arrow into the VITALS you will make a nice kill within usually 50 to 75 yds and most times shorter than that.

It would be great if there were more places spread out on the island that you could take your bow to and get it tuned properly, the better its tuned the better it will shoot and reward you for all your hard practise.

You can have the best bow in the world, and if it's not tuned properly it ain't worth carrying to the woods.

I'm lucky here, we have a few bow shops with real good tech's working there and it's a pleasure to take my Bow to them and have it tuned once a year. (just for insurance you know)

Any gang i'll be looking for some bow-hunting talk on here about every day, and If I can help anyone, I'll do my best or contact someone who can answer your questions for you. Right now I'm shootin a

Mathews Z7 (orriginal) 29 inch draw, 60lb pull , on the Crono it reads 287fps with my 100gr Montec Broadheads. My arrows are Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 and 250. ( There are lots of other great arrows on the market I just happen to like these) Easton Has a great line of arrows to mention just one.

Hope you didn't mind me ramblin on gang, I get kind of long winded sometimes
