Looking for land to train my bird dog

Hello Everyone,

I've got a young English Setter (going on two years old) who is doing well hunting and holds his point. However, he chases birds when they flush. After thinking this over quite a bit, I really want to fix this behavior. I believe I've missed quite a few birds this past fall from this. I was hoping that somebody with experience and a bit of land and birds (or I can buy some birds) could help me or atleast let me use their property to train my dog. I think he could really benefit from some more controlled exposure to birds. I'd be willing to pay, we could negotiate a price. I wouldn't expect this for free. If anyone could offer me a lead or could help me out, I would truly appreciate it. I really want my dog steady to shot.

Nick as you know I train dogs and have all the gear. I have several people interested in doing another clinic. If you are interested let me know. With that said a few words of caution.... if you are not 100% sure of how to use planted birds and do not have strong flying birds and the proper equipment you can set your training way back. I personally use remote release traps and strong flying pigeons for most of my training and then finish on quail and chuckar. Then move to wild birds.

Also do not shoot birds that are not pointed properly

Hello Ken,

I am definitely interested in attending one of your clinics. Give me a date I'll be there! I'd much rather leave this to someone who knows what they're doing, the last thing I want is to set my dog back.. I have been careful not to shoot any birds my dog hasn't pointed as you had told me, I can tell it makes a huge difference.
