Did some callen this afternoon ,called in a black fox within shotgun range 20min into first stand, but no yotes.....
When are the results expected to come out from that big coyote that was shot in Bonavista
dont feel bad.i dont got much luck either
in the pic below this is my tracks going through the skirt of woods...you can see the botton track is when he walked in and the top is when he walked out....like he followed me lol...
there was no tracks when i drew the arrow...it was about 50 yards behind me...
called in my second coyote this evening.. only thing is i never new it...walked in an old road at the end there was a strip of woods about 100 feet thick...on the other side was a wide open cutover with a thick treeline about quater mile across...i picked my way through the tree line walking on thin strips of snow so i could find my way back through lol...when i broke through the other side there was a spot of snow about 100 square feet i guess.. i used my bi pod to draw an arrow so i would ne where to go back in...so i walked straight out about 20 yards wind in my face and placed my e call in a bush.. then continued straight out about 50 yards and sat down with my back to my call...i figured no coyote would walk up the same way i did.. even tho this is down wind now...i called for about 10 mins when i thought i heard a howl behind me..i turned around but saw nothing... 20 mins later i figure its long enough...i pick up my call and when i walk back my arrow i drew is covered in tracks...as i walked out i noticed he walked in the exact way i did.. he followed my fracks through the skirt of woods rite behind me and my call...i have a few pics i will try to post later.. but how sad was i t no he was rite behind me for who knows how mlong...i counted over 100 tracks lol...so he was there that long... oh well more confidence in my calling...hopefully 3ard time will be the charm...
