Wow Peter! Looks like a visit to the Goobies area is in order for my buddy and I. Managed to get a verbal reply to my calls on the Witless Bay Line last Saturday. That was after hoofing 3.5 Kilometres in from the road. We were actually Partridge hunting and weren't camoflagued so I am betting the coyotes saw us before they heard us. Encouraging to get two immediate replies though. Feedback is inspiring. Thanks for the tip Peter. My Remington 700 and I will soon pay a visit. Coordinates would be helpful for my GPS and Paper map.
Cheers,
Mark

Jash I would try a high vantage point. 1, so the remote will work better with the call. 2, You will have a better line of sight. Working with the wind is very important as well. 99% of the time the coyote will head down wind and enter very cautiously. Good Luck.

One of the girls at work, told me. Her Uncle was hunting in Goobies when he spotted the coyotes, he told her there was 21 there in a group. After seeing such a lorge group he got nervous and got out of there as fast as he could.

Was there 21 there? I don't know. She believed her uncle.  21 is a lot ot coyotes.

I did talk to a fella from out that way, he said lots out that way. He had 3 in the bed of his truck then.

Goobies? Quite a large group of Coyotes when they are 21. That sure helps their chances of bringing down large prey. Can you verify that information? I am finding it difficult to believe. However, if your source proves to be true, it might be worth a drive out from town.

I hear Goobies is crawling with them. I heard of a (pack-family group) of 21 together. How true is it, who knows, but the person that reported it was very serious.

We saw a large male yesterday morning around 7:15 am on the Bauline Line, just past the Portugal Cove Extension. He was tracking along the edge of the peat farm on the left hand side of Bauline Line. He was a very large coyote with a really thick coat and as soon as he spotted us, he ducked into the woods.
