I was talking to my cousin last night from Southern Harbour. He was telling me one of the momen from the community was out for a walk on the main road heading toward the highway. On the way back toward the community another member from that community stopped and picked her up and told her there was a coyote following her in the road on the way back to the community of Southern Harbour. she was a little shaken up by the ordeal.

Mac they are not small. I wouldn't want to meet that without a gun.

I just uploaded a vid I took couple years ago to utube of an animal track crossing a lake here in central. My dog is a big lab  and her tracks are small in comparison as you can see in the vid. Have the wolf come to the island? I think so. Lots of sign last 4 years here especially around the little caribou herds. I saw one on the lake last winter I think.

Controlled experiment? In the middle of nowhere with no fences? Good luck with that considering how much our coyotes travel. Snare one and another one comes from across the island to take it's place! At least they are trying something I suppose.
