Just wondering what everybody's favorite accessory is in their camper? For me it would have to be the kuerig coffee machine. If you are a coffee drinker it can't get any easier for a good cup of…Continue

Just over 10 weeks till the May long weekend! And in another 5 or 6 months summer should be here. Was up to check on the rv on the weekend and took a walk around the park. Seems every time I go up a different camper has a smoke or carbon monoxide detector beeping due to dying batteries in them. New batteries should be on everybody's list at the start of every new season.

I'm at Droghedea rv park in Makinsons. When I spoke to the investigating officer she said there are a few people she has in mind but has no evidence. With the fresh snow there where no identifiable tracks and no finger prints,  must have been wearing gloves. And yes, they are scumbags to say the least. I am fully insured but am pretty sure they will only repair the damaged wall unit instead of replacing it even though the  rv is under 6 months old. And how much will my rates increase next year?

That's brutal. Any idea who the scumbags are?

What park, Dave?

Got a phone call from the campground owner on friday as we were getting ready to go to the camper for the weekend. Our rv and 10 others had been broken into on thursday night. They fòund the door wide open. Needless to say there was quite a bit of snow and water inside. Along with the damaged door and door frame our tv, some other electronics and some booze had been stolen. And a damaged wall unit where the tv was. Insert expletive here. So just a heads up if you have an rv out there in a park somewhere, you might want to go have a look.

Went up to check on the rv yesterday. All was good and most of the damp traps are working well. The cheap ones from the un-named discount stores where everything  costs about a dollar aren't doing anything. The stuff in them is still like new, in the others the stuff is getting hard and shrinking. We also put charcoal and kitty litter in tinfoil pans in the underbody storage. Both of these are great for absorbing moisture and any odours as well. I have been in more than one camper that has had moisture trapped inside. Not a pleasant aroma to say the least. A dry camper is a happy camper.

Just got back from the rv, went up Friday night. Had to get up at 3:30 in the morning to change the propane tank, they always seem to run out in the middle of the night. Lots of condensation on the windows Saturday because the dehumidifier died. So I  opened one roof vent an inch and by the time 9:00 pm rolled around they were completely dry. I think an open vent works better than the dehumidifier did. Moisture has to be controlled  if you don't  want to end up with a mouldy, musty smelling camper.
