What is the correct name for the sea duck that we call Hounds?

The duck formerly known as Oldsquaw now renamed to the pc version officially as: Longtailed duck.  Course hounds is correct if you ask me.............

It's funny they should rename a duck don't you think. So only the male has the long tale, i bet they didn't think about the female. The female as you know don't have a long tale. So why they did that i never know.

Yes you are tim, was out after them on sat and see about 50 of them in a group but no shot.

Yeah, theres a few of them in my area as well. I shot 4 this past weekend.
