Hello Fred, the wild turkey lives in the hardwoods, does a lot of walking, foraging through the forest.They also fly. A mild wild taste to the meat. There legs are tough. A great fun hunt. I never did get a bird this spring, maybe this fall. That's hunting.

Looks tasty. And looks totally different than a "store Bought" bird. How does the taste compare?

Where are you living? Moving back to NL in August2011, been up here way to long, since 1979. The season opened at the end of April closes the end od May, not a long season. Your allowed 2 turkeys a season Males, then in the fall your allowed either male or female. Terrible year for me , I may get out one more time ? It's a lot of fun, you put out decoys, make some calls, then there calling back to you, your heart is pumping. They come in on your decoys LOOK out Muzzle blast. Good times. You have to try the hunt.

Hey Edward, great site. Ya it was a great hunt. One hell of a turkey dinner, i plucked it the wife stuffed it, nice jigs dinner to go with it. Have you ever hunted the wild turkey? Been bad this year so far, no turkey, that's hunting.
