Peter I was using Snowshoe 2, on level 4. The decoy was about 25 yards from the woods. It seens pretty heavy, I was guessing maybe 40 lbs. I'll weight it soon & get back to you.
We have spent countless hours & miles pursuing them with out much luck. Coyote hunting is not moose hunting for sure. It takes a lot of patience. Its great to spent time in the woods & if you get a shot it's a added bonus. happy hunting.
Excellent job Pierce. What distress call did you use and what volume did you have it on? How far out on the bog was the decoy from the woods?
Looks like a good size coyote. Did you weight it?
A lot of members are chasing these after these critters with very little luck. So any experience anyone can pass on to other members is appreaciated.
Thanks for answering my questions.
Congrats again on your coyote.
Thanks Peter, I called this one with the Foxpro Spitfire & a Quivering Critter in about 15 minutes. about 8:30 am, rain drizzle & fog, 20 kms NE winds, not the greatest morning, lol, on the edge of a bog, about 500 meters from the road.
She came in fairly quickly from behind, ran pass me at about 20 feet, while looking at the Critter.
Congrats on your coyote!!
Tell us how you nabbed this one. Time of the day? Where to, barrens, woods or field. Weather conditions? Dids you use a call, is so what call? Did you use a decoy, if so what decoy?
Thanks Pierce!!
