Had been seeing coyotes for years but this was the first one I ever shot. March 21, 2008. Had just bought the rifle from a buddy 30 minutes before. Stevens model 200, .223 cal. Very poorly made rifle but it did the job.

You are one of the lucky ones if your Stevens 200 shoots well. They are selling them now under the name 'Savage Axis'. Sadly ,still the same old junk. I know two guys who have had trouble with jamming after the first shot and not being able to get a follow-up. I have a Ruger M77 in .223 and a Tikka T3 in .22-250. Both very good rifles, but I must say, the T3 is as good as it gets for both smooth operation and accuracy.
Nice pic.
What rifle do you prefer now. I have a Stevens mod 200 22.250 have used it for few years now with no probs. The fixed mag was my issue but have since changed to a removabable one; works fine. Trigger was a bit stiff too but also fixed that. Its been dropped lots of times with very little damage to affect its functionality and Ive shot many predators with the rifle. Very accurate rifle. For the price I like it still and would buy another different cal.!
