Over the years I 've been watching the anti-hunting movement  and now that I have a pc can keep a closer eye on it .Image is very important which is why I am active in this area. The best advice I can offer is to Google "ANTI- HUNTING" , and see what they call us and just how persuasive they can be. It's also interesting to see some of the names  involved and positions of power  these people hold. You may be surprised.Hunting is under serious attack and I have to admit it is scary.

I don't know how many more years I will be able to hunt , hopefully for another couple of moose licenses at least, but for those who are younger I have to wonder if it will still be the same in twenty  years.

We are going to put up a set guidelines for pictures and videos. Something for everyone to follow, while not being to strict, just common sense and good taste.

I do love a good debate, as long as no one gets personal. By the way, John your pictures are excellent.

John, I just had a look at myoutdoorzone & shareyourhunt, the pictures posted there are no different than the ones posted here. Just thought I'd mention it.

The anti-hunting lobby and associated groups are all a part of the same movement, that is those who think animals should not be used for food, the advancement of medical treatment, and especially "hunting" and are now in the process of giving human rights to animals in the sense that they can sue people such as "HUNTERS " for inflicting pain on them.
There is a real possibility that hunting could suffer greatly because of this movement,if in fact any of these things should ever become law. These are groups of people who are very well educated in the "ART" of praying on the emotions of the general public " NON HUNTERS" who are not used to seeing what we "THE HUNTING COMMUNITY" sees on a regular basis, and who will be instrumental in determining the future of hunting, indeed we see death up close every time we take game, but if we as hunters promote "death" as opposed to hunting will this help the "HUNTING OR THE ANTI-HUNTING" cause.
Each time this discussing comes up the same arguments are used to justify this practice of posting "DEATH " as opposed to hunting ,before the visitor to any site can determine whether or not to look they have already seen the image and if disgusting it is to late and you will most likely have added another "ANTI- HUNTER" to the many millions who are already out there, and the fact that some other sites may or may not post such images is a very poor excuse for justifying this insane practice. If the picture is not worth the effort to make it presentable to the general public, then what makes it so valuable as to jeopardize the worldwide hunting community, and post it on the "INTERNET"  since they are going "WORLD WIDE"?
There is one other thing , that I find very confusing.Since I am only sixty-four years of age and have only been hunting for forty-seven of them and, if you add the years hunting with my brother before I was old enough to carry a gun,it would be more like fifty -five and, have been trouting for sixty.
I therefore apparently have no knowledge in these matters and know nothing about the human psyche, especially of this generation, would someone who does "PLEASE" tell me what I should expect to find on a "HUNTING AND FISHING SITE?

I think that the pic's on this site are very good. Yes some people go to all the trouble making the kill look pritty and that is fine. BUT if you are going to that much trouble to show how a pic should be taken, it is just as well to not take it at all.

I allso think that if you don't like what you are looking at " Don't look at it".....

We as newfoundlanders have seen all that gets done with all game we hunt, the blood and the gory is part of the hunt. It is who we are. All the comments in the world will not change that.

I have only seen very few pic's on this site that people who have trouble looking at.

WELCOME TO NEWFOUNDLAND..

I have to say, this is a hunting/fishing and recreational web site. Some people will find some pictures offencive no matter what. We dispatch animals and no matter how pretty the picture, someone somewhere will have a problem with it. Do we need to be bloody or gory, no of coures not.

But what I may find offencive someone else may not. To be honest when I got my first moose and had a picture taken with it, I didn't care if its tounge was hanging out or if there was blood on the nose. I was just so excited to have taken a moose.

So while some of us have been at this sport for 25+ years others are just starting out and when they take their first game animal and have a picture with it, the tounge or a bit of blood is not their main focus. Just the pure excitement of the hunt.
