My dog Hunter is to my left and my buddies dog Porter to my right. We spend more time dog training than actual hunting. Every month I'm not hunting we train our dogs. When I move to CBS in Jul 11 I hope to find some guys\gals to do a little training. I'm no expert but can certainly help out there's nothing more rewarding than having your dog make a beautiful retrieve. I was part of the Eastern Flyway Hunting Retreiver Club in Halifax for 6 yrs and had a blast.

Hey Chris, I'm here in Kelligrews too, I got a good dog that tears my arm out, lol.
any tips? Retrieves great but won't sit still in the blind, flares the birds all the time.
Darrell,
I'll do that once settled. I have hunted and trained with three Cheesies, my two hunting partners had them and their a hardy breed. A good starting tip, a book by Richard Walters Water Dog, he's kinda old school but when I first joined the Eastern Flyway Hunting Retriever Club in Halifax the trainer at the time who turned out to become me best buddy and hunting partner gave me the tip. I followed that book in stone and it worked great for me. I grew up on the rock thinking that an awesome dog was one that near tore the arm off you to go once the trigger was pulled. Like I said I'm no pro but I have trained and had endless rewards from our dogs and seen some of the most incredible retrieves.I'll be training tonight. I currently shopping for a home CBS not really sure the area but friends are pointing us to live Keligrews.
