reply to Darren, Darren is correct, why do us as newfoundlanders need all of those regulations to catch fish to eat. I don't want to go out and catch a lot of fish, just fresh fish when we need it. The fish we catch now have to be frozen, it's too early to salt and dry, what do we have in the freezer for the winter, fish that is dried out and the flavour gone.I believe a portion of newfoundlanders still believe in all the restrictions the government is forcing on us. I don't want to go out and take fish to sell, I just want to have fresh fish. Up on this coast it's getting too expensive to do, five small fish, our cod is small and parasitic, so a portion of your catch have to be thrown out and after the fish is filletted, you only have one third.
