Just talking to wildlife and they told me that the permit to transport is only good for one day. So if you are going for a few days you will have to go to the nearest office and pick up a new permit even if it is an hour away and go back to pick up your gun and head home. What a load of crap. This for sure needs to be changed.

I just received another Permit to transport a non-restricted firearm today through email . Amazingly enough this was not available to the general public prior to Aug 28/ 2013. It still has a time limit on it though . However , it's a start.
Albert.
my buddy got one last year by e-mail, just never though of putting it up on line.
Well here is some good news for permits to transport a fire arm. If you have picked one up in the past and need another you can call and get one sent to your E-Mail, print it and have it on you at all time. But if you did not make a first trip there you will have to for your info and ID. Hope this tip saves us a lot of gas and time. Good luck with this years hunt guys.
the couple of permits i ever did get were usually 3 day permits
Correction. Just noticed that the man's name on my post below should read Mr. Barry White. Sorry folks, for the mistake. I ' ve been talking to quite a few people lately .
Albert
Thanks Albert, i am glad that it will be fixed.
First let me say ,thanks Ken ,for bringing this to my attention , it is about to change. I called the # you gave me and got a recording , which referred me to " report a poacher " so I called them and I was told that the girl might be away from her desk for a few minutes so I called back a little later and spoke to Dawn , who said the permit was only good for one day , but could be issued for another day, like pick it up on Mon . and use it on Sat. .When I asked where the directives for permits to transport came from she transferred my call, which turned out to be Paddys Pond , who's directives come from Corner Brook , but I already knew that.,and after having a nice chat with Lorne again I called Dawn. She couldn't answer my questions and so referred me to Mr Barry Smith. We had a great chat for some time and it turns out that it was an honest mistake on Dawn's part , due I guess, to a lack of communication. However , Barry told me that he would speak to Dawn and bring her up to date on the regulations. The misunderstanding is about to be corrected.
I took this matter on as a private individual and brought about this miner change , however I have discovered that there are many attentive people in positions of power who are willing to listen . They are aware of the Waterfowlers Site and the newly formed FEDERATION OF HUNTERS AND ANGLERS . I can't wait to get down to business for the outdoor lovers of the Province through the Federation ,but we need members and again I urge members of the Waterfowlers Site to fill out an application and become a member of the Federation. Many changes are on the horizon but we need the support of all who say "things need to be changed". Give us your support and we'll get it done together.
Albert.
Thanks Albert, let me know howit goes.
Thanks Ken.
The three main offices at St. John's , Paddys Pond and Corner Brook are not aware of any other offices that issue permits to transport. Never the less , the directives come from Corner Brook, and are for three days. I think Corner Brook Officials will agree that in order to serve the public these regulations have to be consistent . I will be contacting the parties involved to see what can be done.
Albert.
Albert she will tell you the same, one day but good luck. If the permit is for more than one day it should be changed.
Good luck
Thanks
