Just talking to wildlife and they told me that the permit to transport is only good for one day. So if you are going for a few days you will have to go to the nearest office and pick up a new permit even if it is an hour away and go back to pick up your gun and head home. What a load of crap. This for sure needs to be changed.

Thanks Ken, I will look into it on Monday .

Albert the # there is 709-729-2192
I posted this to see if it was for one day and where I got it to it was. Having someone signature will do dick crap but I got the permit in pippy place in town. So how is that for you.
If someone is telling you that a permit to transport is only good for one day they are wrong and are causing an inconvenience to all who either seek information or apply for one, weather it be deliberate or due to not knowing what the regulations are. If someone loses their job " which by the way I doubt very much will happen ", maybe it is deserving. If you meant what you said " This for sure needs to be changed " Then post the permit with the signature on it since it is useless without it. If you are not willing to do what is required to bring about change why did you bother to post this Blog in the first place..
Albert.
Sorry i am not putting anyone's job on the line for a permit and i am sure that all will agree. But when the permit is over i will white it out and post it for you. with no names.

I checked around some more and I found that Paddy's pond will issue a permit for one day , if it is requested by the individual, and must be used on the day it is issued, and under certain circumstances will issue a permit for as much as two weeks. What I need you to do Ken , since the permit expires at dark is to put tape or something else over your drivers licence # and address and post the permit on site. It had to be signed by the person who issued it . If you will do that I will take it from there .

Well just got back from the Wildlife with my one day Permit To Transport Firearms. I was going to post it but my adress and drivers lic is on it and i am going to use it. So if this is so Albert that others places have them for longer, someone from GOV should get there s*@# together.
Not what I heard from wildlife in st.john's that why I put this up. Had a long racket with them and they said that it was still 1day. I will find out in the morning. I will post that permit to transport on this site showing how long it is good for.

Just talking to Conservation Services , Wildlife Division, Corner Brook , and the manager who oversees this regulation says that the transporting firearms permit has not changed . The permit is still good for three days ,as it has been for some time, and can be used when you need it. In other words you can pick one up on Monday and use it the following weekend . I brought up this matter with the Powers that be in Corner Brook , since I am interested in changing this reg. myself , and if, in fact , it is really necessary at all. Further more, if it is necessary why can't it the permit be issued online in the same manner as the Chief Firearms Office issues permits to transport " Prohibited Firearms ". The response I received to this suggestion was positive . I now know the people to speak to on this matter and other matters as well. we in the " Federation " are prepared to do what we said we would do from the beginning , " But ", we need members to speak for, since without membership we have no clout . so if you are really serious about bringing about change then I would urge you to join the " Federation" . I am sure that some are aware that a few voices speaking to the right ears is far more productive than 10,000 talking to the wind. Albert.
PS. Big Game Applications will be out by the end of April
We are living in newfoundland and the wildlife know that people go out around the bay for the weekend, wildlife is not open on saterday and sunday, so where is the scence in that?? With to days computers and technology you should be able to just print it of on line anytime you want....
