sea ducks

Like to know when you can hunt sea ducks in cbs new to it all and when you look in the book it says all coastal areas from Sept 20 to Dec 27 for waterfowl now it also says Nov 25 for the Murry do sea duck fall under that or can you go in boat and shoot ducks now? Any info will be great thanks

The third weekend in nov is when you can hunt sea ducks. Yes it does open with the turr season. Just remember that the Merg is a freshwater duck and do close when the season closes for fresh water/ puddle duck hunting. In that same spot peter has talked about we also have hunted there and did great each time we went there. There are a lot of merg's there when it's get late in the season or when the river's frezz over.  Good luck and happy hunting.

There is an area just past the bridge before the stacks where you can hunt. We do it every year. Great spot for mergs.

That's what I was thinking was out by the stacks fishing and their I seen a nice few shots of ducks flying around like to be able to shoot from beach don't know if I'm aloud yet

The only bird you can hunt from a moving boat is turrs. I think you can set up a boat with camo and a anchor and hunt. Not sure because I always hunt from the shore, but also do a lot of turr hunting.

I think what coastal means is that you can hunt what we call shell birds along the shore....the eilder duck won,t be open until late nov. Then you can use a boat to go to some off shore rocks and set up. Check the hunters guide where you buy small game lic. All the info should be in it that you need.
