Duck hunting as it was done 2000 years ago...This method of taking waterfowl was made legal by the Canadian government some years ago. However, its a lot more work than using a shotgun and is not as easy as it seems in this video.

Was lucky enough to get the chance to see a falcon hunt in Michigan years ago. The lady I think her name was nancy Dinius took me out phesant hunting. I was a month trying to close my mouth.

'Fraid not yet Tony. On occasion though a mentor can live a long way away from an apprentice. Its availability and experience with the species the apprentice is working with that is the key. In this era of webcams, email, and cell phones distance has become less critical whereas availability and the patience of the mentor will always be key. You might want to check out the NL falconers association website for some more information.

I hate using steel shot guys, and I mean hate it! Moreover, most of the shot made from high density stuff that is not lead is sooo expensive. But, crippled ducks shot with lead often become raptor food...and if the raptors eat a couple lead pellets from the crippled waterfowl the raptors will dye from lead poisoning. And guess which waterfowl gets targeted from a flock by a hunting raptor (ans. the crippled ones). So, its not just about polluting the environment, or having waterfowl eat lead pellets and dyeing, its also the critters that eat the lead shot from the crippled waterfowl that get poisoned and die. Just thought this would help ease the pain of having to put steel through your barrels instead of lead. Lead really is bad news for our environment and everything in it (thats why they took it outta our gas). Good hunting all!
