I have been searching the internet the past couple months looking for decent videos of well trained dogs at work. I have to say your videos trump them all bar none. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

These are Bob white quail. I used them because this was the birds he would do his testintg with. I left a name and address where to get them in a request you made earlier.

When I say training begins with the trainer, this what I mean. Having a clear picture of what you will want from your dog is critical. STAY can begin from the point where your dog comes home. Albeit as a puppy its taught as fun, but over the months how consistant you have been in showing your dog to stay will imprint.( any command for that matter.)
Being totally consistant pays huge dividend with dogs.Buy a new couch and see how quickly your wife teaches the dog not to get on it. When she NEVER lets him up on it. He will know in a week.

Chase is taught to be steady to both wing and shot. This is where all the obedience comes in as a puppy. Steady is nothing more than a STAY. Its a Stay in which a flushing bird and a gun going is temptation to break. From a safetly standpoint it keeps the dog out of firing lanes. Maybe not a huge concern for partridge, but out of pit blinds and layouts for ducks and geese its critical.Out of pits after all your gun barrel is only a foot or so above ground level. A dog breaking to chase a bird will having him running thru someones firing lane

What a beautiful point! Amazing, I never thought about that, that is the safety concerns for the dog once the bird has flushed. Great point and demo, thanks Fred. 5/5 Ed
