I thought I would start a discussion for those of you who may be interested in having some of your fine specimens mounted. I will try to answer any questions you may have.
My profile picture is from a scene at my museum - Gros Morne Wildlife Museum in Rocky Harbour. It's a Green-winged teal in the pond scene.

Field Care Tip:
Carry the bird by the feet and not the neck. Holding it by the neck might cause feather loss.
The price for birds (as with life-size mammals) varies depending on the style of mount you want. Intricate bases, habitats, poses, etc. effect the mount prices. Generally speaking though, for a Canada Goose the price is ~$650. For large ducks like Eiders the price is ~$550. For smaller ducks like Goldeneyes or Teals, the price is ~$450. These prices would include a regular base.
Please let me know if you have any more questions!
Field Care Tip:
Panty hose in the field! Fold your specimen's head under one wing, fold the feet against the body and insert the bird head first into the stocking. The panty hose will do a great job of holding feathers in place to reduce damage.
