I pasted this from another site, very interesting development.  This is a extreme standby the NLWF, I dont think they truely represent the angling population.  How are these guys representing anglers and hunters????

Heads up folks. I just reviewed a 75 page report authored by Rick Bouzan of the Newfoundland and Labrador Wildlife Federation that was sent to the Federal Minister of Fisheries calling for a complete ban on hook and release. Bozane claims that the angling population of NL is vehemently opposed to the practice and it is seen as a means of privatizing our salmon rivers. He also circulated a copy to PETA, you know that crowd. If you'd like a copy, you can download it from https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=a9c8bbfdab0d6eca&id=A9C8BBFDAB0D6ECA%21189&Bsrc=Share&Bpub=SDX.SkyDrive&authkey=%21AhjWMMU_QNJtvQE#cid=A9C8BBFDAB0D6ECA&id=A9C8BBFDAB0D6ECA!189&authkey=!AhjWMMU_QNJtvQE

SAEN is a strong supporter of proper catch and release practices and believes that it is an effective management tool that helps conserve our wild salmon. We don't speak for all anglers, but we do attract conservation minded ones and do our best to represent them.
