Area 36 use to have a 70% success rate. This year it was 45%. The mix of licenses should be based on science and not the government. We had a very healthy moose herd now with poaching and SOPAC, moose are almost decimated. This was  dry cow.

That's not good. Cows should not be on the license if you ask me. But they are, it only should be very few

I had a conversation with a fella yesterday. Appearently a helicopter left St. John's flew to Corner Brook with wildlife division people on board. They counted a grand total of 3 moose between St. John's & Corner Brook.

That is not a very postive report for our moose population.

Just checked the moose app, still nothing. The new department must have made some mess of the moose apps. Imagine moose hunting is worth an estimated $100 million annually and it's treated like trash.

Moose apps are out.

Dad and pop are partners in the same pool and me and my brother are partners in another. So every year we get a bull only for 36. So used to having a moose now we would miss it. We eat a full moose a year. Good luck with the geese Peter.

My son and myself didn't put in for a license this year. We had a license last year. I got a 10 point bull in 36. I like to goose hunt on the first day of moose season because there are people everywhere and the geese are on the move.
Good luck and safe hunting.
