Heard it announced this morning on VOCM that there will be the largest increase in the past 6 years this year on the moose licenses. Going to be announced later in the week.

Any quotas given David? Last year they announced an increase of over 2000 licenses........

I couldnt find any numbers, but I have heard from 5-10,000. I think they are going to try to put the moose in the same situation as the caribou are in now.

I seriously hope you are wrong David!

So the quota in the 2011 Hunting & Trapping Guide turned out to be an increase of 5020 licences over and above the 2010 quota according to the Hunting & Trapping Guide figures . Is that correct? NO NO NO NO. "LOOK AT THIS ".
Using the 2010 quota of 28,420 , which was already in decline , lets look more closely at the figures .
Tot Tot
Decrease Increase Quota
2011 28,420 [+] 5,020 = 33,440
2012 28,420 -630 =[+] 4,390 = 32,810
2013 28,420 -1505 =[+] 2,885 = 31,305
2014 28,420 -320 =[+] 2,565 = 31,005
_______ _______
14,860 128,560
NOTE THAT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MOOSE ON THE ISLAND AT THE END OF THE 2010 SEASON "ACCORDING TO DEPT OF WILDLIFE FIGURES " WAS 114,000 . THAT FIGURE INCLUDES NATIONAL PARKS .
This is an average increase of 3,715 for each year of a four year period . To write it another way it would look like this:
2011 increase 3,715
2012 increase 3,715
2013 increase 3,715
2014 increase 3,715
2015 increase ?????
The actual increase in 2011 was 5220 , making the matter even worse , but these and other figures do not appear in the H&T guides . It seems that I am the only one who has them . My position on those figures however, remains firm.
As it is plain to see " FIGURES CAN HIDE THE TRUTH ". The increase has been 14,860 over the last 4 years and is still counting. Taking these figures into consideration ,together with the others , that I posted on the "Moose Hunting Quotas And Success Rates" discussion , it should be obvious that this is a very serious matter. These figures show only partly the way in which " Genocide " works . I have made a number of appeals for support on this matter and the response has been pathetic. This ,however, will be my last one . I now put it in your hands.
