Just a reminder that the last day in feb is when the season is closed for sea ducks.
Hope it was a good season.
Between the mergs and the seals eating the salmon eggs out of the rivers i would say you have a good point.
I think with the changes that we have seen in of weather patterns has drastically affected our hunting seasons. Personally I think our inland season opens much too early and ends too early. In my opinion the inland season should open mid to late october(give the birds a chance to get their feathers) and close around end of january! we dont usually get any frost until then anyway. I also think that there sould be an additional costal seasons on mergs that coencides with the sea ducks. I wonder why our salmon stocks are not returing to levels that we have expected ?? Food for thought!!! Comments ??
It's funny because it's like that everywhere.
yes i agree with you peter with the merg season cause when season closes thats when all the mergs comes around
I think merg season should be changed to coincide with the sea ducks. But what do I know?
Was out today on the shore line and see alot of sea ducks but no shot. Lots and lots of merg's around, we see about 50 in one flock and they were going and coming all morning long. See a small flock of 10 bulls to. Oh well get a shot at them the next time. We also see a few turrs as well and tryed them but no luck, flying mad they were. I wish the season was still open for the mergs, man we would have done good.
tell me about it, can't even get out to get a few turrs
Its been a rotten year so far and no signs of letting up.
Still not fit in placentia bay yet. I think now it's been over 4 weeks. The waters are still to bad. It's getting down to the count on the closing season. less than 4 weeks left.
