Being from Newfoundland, I am a member of Delta Waterfowl here in Alberta. They produce a very educational semi-monthly magazine, full of information. Their website has a lot of "how too" videos, about waterfowl hunting and great recipies. Delta Waterfowl is US based, so a lot of the information on their website about the organizations contains US material.
That being said, I would encurrage this group or any other conservation group if your objective to increase migratory populations or endangered species maybe we should lean more towards Ducks Unlimited, which I also am a member of.
Look at the missons for both of these great organizations…
“Delta provides knowledge, leaders and science-based solutions that efficiently conserve waterfowl and secure the future for waterfowl hunting”
“All Ducks Unlimited organizations conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.”
Both contain similar visions but I think the key word here is “wildlife and people”,” not just waterfowl and hunters.”
We need to force NL Government to commit to protecting more of our valuable marshlands and coastal tidal areas. Besides the hand full of “protected” waterfowl areas in the province, we also have an abundant of coastal sea birds which make us unique to the rest of Canada. If any of you fellow hunters had the opportunity to travel across this country, you will have noticed countless Ducks Unlimited signages for ongoing habitat conservation projects through Canada.
Don’t get me wrong Delta waterfowl is a great organization but I think with Ducks Unlimited strong publicity appearance in Canada I think this would be a good start in our wonderful province.

Great thoughts there Rich RYAN, I was sort of leaning towards DU as well but like you said, Delta is a great organization. And, where there is a Chapter already in NL, it almost seems like the best avenue. Ed, have you thought about contacting DU NL Chapter and passing on this website address to them? Maybe asking some of their key members in the chapter to join this site and post some information outlining what they are doing in NL and how our members can help if interested? I know they have a website but addressing the members on this network may increase their membership. Just my thoughts.

Thanks Rich For your thoughts! It's nice to get imput from people that are more experienced with these organizations. There is a DU chapter here already, but I do not see them do much. What about you? I think that your right that it should be wildlife and people, but without effort there is nothing. Likewise, all money raised by DU Chapters goes back to the main office. Delta leaves 25% in the chapter, and starts the chapter off with money. That money will be used to do the conservation work needed. Having said that These are great organizations! And, As you have said "we have to force the NL Government to commit to protecting more of our valuble marshlands..." You have given me lots of food for thought, Thank you so much. Ed
