It'll be the end of the month before results of DNA testing performed on the remains of what was believed to be a coyote, shot on the Bonavista Peninsula last month, will be available. A spokesperson with the Department of Environment says the samples were sent outside the province for testing. The animal, shot by Joe Fleming, weighed in at 82 pounds, double the size of an average large coyote. The animal's appearance has also lead to speculation that it could be some kind of hybrid. The DNA testing will determine the genetic makeup of the creature.
