Peter, I google this topic and seems to me you well still be allowed to use the old CN railbed if in fact your allowed to do that now. This railbed is a "Linear Park" managed by Dept. of Tourism, Parks Division and by law all motorized access requires a permit, since its seldom enforced it's not something to get excited over. With respect to the Trans Canada Trail group dropping funding on summer motorize trails this relates mainly to new trails and upgrading the surfaces on existing trails where motorize vehicles are now allowed. With respect to our old CN railbed to my knowledge the Trans Canada Trail group have never spent a great deal of money there anyway, the Parks Div. have inspected most of the bridges and done some repairs as well as trim alder on some sections. In saying this it would still a good idea to form your organization as there are still other issues out there that can negatively impact ATV users. Good Luck
I'm with you on this Peter, maybe we should start our own Trans Newfoundland Trail group and let the rest go there own way.I posted some stats on ATV. Trail Riders that you might find interesting.
these stats are for atvs only.Interesting just how many of us there are.
I would like to hear some feedback on this topic. Let me know what you think.
