The Anti Hunting Movement

Peter Emberley You people are sick and twisted. I am a hunter. I spend a lot of money hunting but I also spend a lot of money on conservation. How many of you put money into wildlife habitat. You are quick to run your mouths, but slow to open your wallets. If you people knew anything about sustainability you would choose your words more carefully. What is more inhumane, hunting and making quick kills or watching something die from starvation and disease which will cause much suffering. So would you rather see animals culled and not used for any purpose? It is almost funny to watch people comment on something that they have no clue about. Hunting is a conservation measure and a privilege. All of you seem to forget that your Grandparents had to kill animals for food or starve. I am fighting hard to save the moose population in Newfoundland. Why? Because I do not want to see the population wiped out. Moose are a very majestic animal and a pleasure to see. I believe they have as much right to our beautiful province as I do. However if their numbers are left unchecked they will eventually die from starvation and disease.   I also apply for a moose licence every 3 or 4 years, and yes my son does accompany me on every trip. We get up at 2 am and get ready to go hunting. When we get up at 2 am, I know for certain that he is not doing drugs or breaking the law and getting in trouble. What are your kids doing? In closing, my biggest thrill of the hunt is having my son with me in the country, seeing the roughest and most beautiful country in the world, taking the time to stop and take a picture of a Butterfly or Wiskey Jack that lands on your hand for a little bread, building a fire to boil the kettle and have a cup of tea in the woods. I'm willing to bet you don't even know what a Whiskey Jack is? And if the good Lord is willing and I harvest a moose or duck or rabbit that is only a small portion of the hunt.

Byes, the scary thing is that these are the kind of people that are destroying to seal market and getting hunting shows cancelled on Global.

I went on the facebook page and made some comments to try draw out some rational debate about them lumping all hunters into the same pile as poachers and Safari hunting in Africa.  The owner of the site made a couple of illogical replies and deleted all of my posts.  One missus from Alberta commented something like Those "noofies" are the worst.  I assume the were talking about one of Peter's deleted posts.  That got me riled up a bit.....
