Clay shooting (practice)

Hi all,

I am new to this site and new to hunting in general.  I want to get in some practice shooting mostly clay shooting for now. I am looking for some suggestions on where to go practice.  I am on the eastern avalon just outside St. John's.  My plan is to join the Rod and Gun club, but not until next year as I won't get out there for the remainder of this season, but still want to get some practice shooting in.  Any suggestions will help.

Come out to the Rod & Gun club on sunday afternoons. You can shoot as a guest and get to know some of the guys there for a little while anyway. Guest insurance is $3 per day, cost for clays is the same for everyone at $5 per round of 25 on the trap field. You need to supply your own shells. This time of year theres usualy only a small crowd there (less then 10 people usually) but we still have a blast!
