Thompson Center Venture Recall

I'm not sure if anyone posted this back in November but there was a recall on All Thompson Center Venture Rifles manufactured prior to October 28, 2011. 

Oddly enough with all the guns I have to choose from I purchased a Venture in October and used it on my Moose hunt this year.  I found it to be very smooth and accurate.  I am in the process of returning my gun to be serviced.  I'll update you when I get some details.

From Thompson Center Recall Site:

During an internal technical review, Smith & Wesson identified a condition that may exist with the sear supplied with some rifles that would allow the rifle to fire without the trigger being pulled.  In the interest of consumer safety, we are initiating this recall to allow for the prompt inspection and, if necessary, the repair of each rifle.

had a new .204 ordered in the t/c, was waiting 2 months when i found out about the recall. i opted for a savage 11 111 fcns

We bought one in april of last year ours was recalled too..Do they pay for shipping it back do you know?

was it just the venture? I have an encore, and I tried to check the link here, but its expired.

I've taken several black bear with this rifle and have had no trouble or complaints, other than its a bit heavy! lol
