A man who works on the Bull Arm fabrication site says people in the area have discovered some unwanted visitors. Three raccoons have been spotted ripping up garbage at the camp, causing a mess for many who work there. The critters, which are not native to the island, have also been seen in the work site itself. They are believed to have come over in cargo shipped from the mainland.

A lot of fun to hunt with dogs, ....

i cant wait to hunt them to lol

Lets hope you don't get the chance and get rid of the dirt as soon as they can.

Not another bird egg predator I hope!

They will be one of the biggest bird egg predator around. They will have a field day here.

Lets hope they gather them all up and get rid of them. Just what we need, a rabies magnet.

Hey all I to have to say look out now  let all hope it one one or 2 of them and not a family of them

For sure peter and we have enough going wrong with this island with out adding crap like that here.

I get your point Peter but let now jump the gun on getting the racoons out of hereWe have to change our mentality of thinking on new species there not wrong with a heathy fear with the word rabies  but i would like to know more about how they got here  and how many there are

I am guessing they got in on one of the dozens of containers coming in daily. If they arrived via Bull Arm theres a good chance they can catch them. If not and they wandered in from elsewhere, its going to be a tougher go.

A ton of fun to hunt with dogs, and they call pretty good.

A woman in Mount Pearl has a trap in her backyard today in hopes of catching a raccoon that has been seen on her back deck this week. Darlene Ryan says her husband spotted the animal on Monday night at their Wyatt Boulevard home. At first, Ryan says she didn't believe it, until she saw the photo evidence.

sure I saw one late at night on the patio..Fighting the cat
