Puppy before Christmas

Hello

I'm hoping to get a puppy before Christmas. Hoping for a good all around dog I can use for both partridge and waterfowl, and friendly with children. I've had Labs in the past, but would like to consider other types as well. Can anyone offer any suggestions on other types, or breeders who may have puppies available? Thanks, Tom
