When is mackerel Season?

Is that a popular sport fishery here in NL?

If so, where are some spots to try from shore?
When is the right time to target them?

By I can tell you from the shore you have better luck winning the loto.lol. But in a boat they are here from july to aug. We go get them every year. They are great sport

Thanks for the info. I'm surprised they don't come close to shore. I know they get them along the causeway in vale Breton and basically any dock in st Margaret's bay in NS.
Is it different here?
Maybe I can target them from a kayak. And suggestions on spots? Feel free to PM me
