2018 Recreational Cod Fishery

I have emailed the federal minister of fisheries requesting information on the food fishery this year no response. I sent a message to Seamus O'Reagon, asking if he could speak to the federal fisheries minister on our behalf. No response from him or his office either.

I find it disgusting that the federal government is leaving us in the dark. There are many Newfoundlanders that plan their summer holidays around the cod fishery.

2018 Newfoundland Recreational Cod Fishery

I am writing this email on behalf of the people of Newfoundlander and Labrador.

Many of our people partake in the Recreational Cod Fishery.
The cod fish has a long history with the people of our great province.

The recreational fishery or food fishery as it is called here is very important. Not only does it provide recreation time for familes and friends but is an important food source for many people.

The recreational cod fishery is also a boost to the Newfoundland economy. As people purchase boats, motors, fishing gear and all the spin offs from that.

The people of our province have a long cultural heritage with the cod fish. It brings back good memories for our people. Our seniors love to go fishing for cod and it is a wonderful experience for our youth. A time to share stories of a time gone by. A truly wonderful experience for all.

Many people of our province like to plan their summer vacation around the Recreational Cod Fishery. However as of now no date has been announced.

In conclusion, I am asking you to please take the time to look at the 2018 Newfoundland Recreational Cod Fishery. It's time to let our people know when the 2018 Newfoundland Recreational Cod Fishery will take place.
